Inside Digital Photography

Wedding photography has by far become one of the hottest jobs on the market today. This is a special and unique occupation that allows a person to show off their artistic side. By carefully watching the events that unfold at a wedding, a photographer can capture the most special of times for a new bride and groom. But in order to make a good living doing this, one must know the essential tools that are needed. One of the main things that a wedding photographer has to have in order to produce those special moments is an eye for detail and of course the right equipment. In order to make sure that their job is done correctly, the photographer needs to have at least a camera with black and white film along with a color film camera handy.

Which is better digital or basic film? This is a question that only the person taking the pictures can answer. Digital is a relatively new concept that with the right equipment can allow for easy photo sharing via the internet. A person can also send their digital pictures to a photo lab via the internet also. This allows for a family member several states away to pick up pictures quicker than having to wait for them to come through the mail. But, if a person thinks that digital photography is too difficult to understand, they may opt to stick with the basic film camera. Again, depending on what a person wants to invest in, the choice is strictly theirs.

Depending on what is needed, the choice can seem overwhelming. One photography site that can help determine just what is right is Short courses. This site helps the consumer decide from the four major types of cameras as to which one fits their lifestyle. Digital photography is a great way to capture the images of an individual that will be seen for generations to come. By using digital photography instead of regular film, those memories will be perfect the first time. The choices of cameras are endless, and with the help of the internet, a person can make sure and choose the right camera that best fits their lifestyle and price range.

As you are deciding which camera you would like to use or buy it is best to know about some features of the camera. Pixel for instance: 1.3 mega pixel is suitable for screen viewing, 1280960 is well enough for screen of 17 to 21 inches. 2-mega pixels can achieve print out under 46 inches. The detail of such photo can be compared with photo taken by traditional cameras. 3 mega pixel and above will make computer editing move convenient. You can do whatever you like with the image taken. 4 mega pixel and above can be used to print larger photos - 68 inches or print out with finer detail. Most major digital camera manufacturers have already stepped into 5 mega pixel. It is believe it will become the mainstream very soon. The pixel size of the digital camera will decide the resolution of a photo to be enlarged. However, the output file will be larger. Which means, more storage space will be needed for your photos. And it will also take longer time for image display, transmission or process. But be noted that resolution is not the only factor of the camera performance. The quality is not only decided by resolution but also the quality of the picture. High resolution not necessarily means good picture quality.

Purchasing any gift item for your child is a mind-numbing task. You can never be sure whether they will like what you buy for them or not. So, when you want to buy a digital camera for your little kids, then there are lots of things, which you must know, which will help you (hopefully!) to get the right camera for your child. One of the most important things for children is that the digital camera should be one of the latest available in the market. If it has been heavily advertised and people are talking about it, then it is even better. This gives children a sense of pride and also allows them to 'show-off' their possession to their friends. Another factor, which is critical for children, is that the camera must look good. This is very, very important to them. It does not matter whether it has a big screen or small screen, whether it is 2 mega pixel or 1.5 mega pixel - the camera should have a smart shape, come in flashy colors or it can also look cute or funky. But, the camera should not look 'boring' or very 'serious' in nature. However good the functions might be, if the camera does not look good, it is most likely that your choice will get rejected.

There are times, however, when you will want to take control of your camera's settings to get an even better picture. Here are some tips to help you consistently: Minimize camera movements - If you know you'll be in a situation where you'll have to shoot under low light conditions with a slow shutter speed, use a tripod. You can also use a tripod on a sunny day to minimize camera moment to allow you to shoot with a small aperture and a slower shutter speed for greater depth of field. Most professional nature and landscape photos you see were done with a tripod. Follow your object - If you're shooting a moving object, try planting your feet solidly and bracing your arms tightly against your sides, and follow the moving object by turning your body. This can keep your subject in focus, although your background will be blurred.

For photographing fireworks in the sky or at any reasonable distance, switch it off! All flash will do is illuminate any smoke or dust in front of the camera and spoil the picture. But if you are photographing people close by with, for example, sparklers or torches, you can get some exciting effects by combining flash illumination and a slow shutter speed (above). The flash illuminates people and freezes the scene but the long (slow sync) shutter speed lets bright moving objects, like sparklers, leave long trails. Look for settings like slow-sync flash or use a slow manual shutter speed - say, between 1/4 and a whole second, with the flash on. And finally, Take as many shots as you can. Fireworks don't demand highest resolution camera settings so you can use a lower resolution setting to get more shots out of your memory card.
