Choices In Window Blinds
In the home design world, window blinds are available in many different materials, designs, and styles. They can be used with curtains and/or valances or alone to give your windows a new look and feel. Combining them with fabric and curtains helps to soften up the lines of the window blinds helping them to feel warmer and more welcoming.
1. Miniblinds. These blinds are some of the most popular ones that are available today. They can be found in any number of stores both discount and upscale, to help update and cover your windows. They are made of a couple of different materials, including PVC or aluminum, and come in many different colors that will go with almost any decorating that you choose for your home. The window blind?s slats are extremely narrow in design. They can be opened or closed, depending you?re your needs and can even be pulled to the top of the window for added versatility and function.
2. Venetian blinds. These blinds have slats that are anywhere from one to three inches wide and have a slight curve to them. They are normally made of aluminum, but may be found in plastic as well. These window blinds can be used in almost any room and can allow in as little or as much light as you want in the room.
3. Wood window blinds. These window blinds are a Venetian blind, but are constructed of wood for added warmth and beauty. The window blind?s slats are much thicker, which creates a thicker look at the top of the blind when they are pulled up. These window blinds can be painted or stained, whichever you desire. They are very function, in that they can be opened or closed, depending upon your light control needs and wants.
4. Woven window blinds. Woven window blinds do not open and close like the many different varieties of Venetian blinds do to allow light in. These window blinds are made of a narrow weave that filters the sunlight, rather than block it out entirely. This type of window blind does not offer as much privacy, but they do help to block some of the view. Rolling them up and down can give you added function and flexibility.
5. Vertical blinds. Vertical window blinds are used most commonly for large windows or glass doors. They are normally made from metal or PVC and are connected to a track that allows them to be pulled to one side or another. These window blinds are very durable and easy to clean and come in many different varieties, styles, and colors.
Window blinds come in many different styles and varieties to fit any window in your home or business. Adding them to your home design plan can give you added function and flexibility for your windows and your life.
