It is not as easy as you may think to run a successful Adwords campaign. It is far more than just building a short ad around a keyword. There is no doubt that these 3 line ads do make money. However good management is the key.
There are many things to look out for; click to sales conversions, costs and bid comparisons to name just a few. Above all you must be prepared for fast action and changing things on the fly.
The quicker you get to the problems and fix them the better you campaign will be. When small problems are caught quickly it will save you a lot of headaches and money. Neglecting your Adwords campaign is one of the worst mistakes you can do. You will be setting yourself up for failure if you do this.
Positioning of the ad is one of the key factors in your Adwords campaign. This should be compared to other ads using the exact same keyword, because many results pages will come up for a popular keyword. In order for your ad to be profitable you must be sure to attract the largest number of potential buyers. To do this your ad must be seen by many searchers.
You should bear in mind that searchers rarely go beyond 5-10 pages in a search result. To make your ad effective you should be sure it is positioned among the first 5-10 pages of results. For each keyword you use there will be many other ads competing against you for a good position. The only time that you would not experience this is if you used a keyword that is so highly specialized that there are very few searches done for it. Of course the people who found the ad associated with this keyword would probably buy, but the production costs would prevent this ad from being profitable. The bottom line is the more you bid on a keyword the higher position it will have.
It takes some skill to bid correctly on a keyword. Two factors should be taken into consideration; how much money you can afford and how high your competitors are bidding for a particular keyword. Always remember that popular keywords and use of "Sponsored Links" will result in quite large numbers of wasted leads, as well as sales. Cost of click versus sales profits must be considered. You will need to assess how many clicks it takes to get a sale.
It is critical to track how many potential customers and sales are being generated by your ad. Many clicks and no sales mean that your ad will need adjustment. You can do this by changing the keywords or just changing the format of the ad. Attention to each and every detail is essential for managing a successful Adwords campaign.
Google provides you with excellent tools for tracking your ad. In fact if you sell your own products and services you can even track sales conversions from your campaign. With your keyword list in your campaign you can see exactly how many clicks each keyword is generating.
So keep these tactics in mind, for your Adwords campaign. By this means you will be able to use Google Adwords to make your business into a long-term profitable enterprise. For a small investment of time you will be rewarded with a bigger success.
